The EZstringer came about when my beloved cargo pants fell victim to a clever culprit, the errant drawstring. I spent 45 frustrating minutes trying unsuccessfully to restring them with a coat hanger and safety pins. Not wanting to buy a new pair of cargos, I decided to invent a product to help solve this common clothing crime. Now available online and nationwide, The EZstringer was featured on Discovery Channel’s hit series, Pitchmen, Season 2. Especially in this tight economy, people don’t want to replace a perfectly good item of clothing just because of a missing string. Sweat pants, athletic shorts, and hoodies are all wardrobe staples. With the EZstringer, it’s a simple guide and slide. You just attach the drawstring to the EZstringer, and feed it down the hole. Plus, there’s a visual “wow” factor because multiple items can be relaced in a short period of time.~From EZstringer.com
I was sent the above items to review and enough EZstringer to giveaway to two lucky readers. You will not be getting a bag of strings like I did. That was only sent to help me review. You will have to either saves the strings that come out of your garments or buy new ones, but those aren't very expensive. Anyway, I am sure everyone of us has at some point in time either pulled the drawstring out of a pair of pants or pulled pants out of the dryer only to find that the string has gotten tangle and broken to a point where it is unusable. This is what more commonly happens to me. I know I probably should tie the strings together before putting the clothes in the washer/dryer in order to keep them from getting tangled, but when you have a toddler standing at the top of your basement stairs screaming because he can't get to you, you tend to just throw the clothes in and go. I have had strings get tangled around the middle section of my washing machine or tangled in other clothes which results in the string being yanked out as I pull the clothes out of the washer. I have also had them get tangled in the dryer, tie themselves in knots, and then break off. Of course there's also those items that I have worn until the string just disintegrates. Those are upsetting because you don't want to get rid of the clothes and now you can't wear them.
So how have some of you fixed your drawstring problems? I have taken safety pins attached to one end of the string and attempted to run them through the clothes again. This is very difficult. My brother-in-law has a contraption he made from a coat hanger, but that can rip the clothes. I personally haven't found a good solution, until I was presented the option to try EZstringer. The package includes three different sizes which are different colors. See below.
The best way for me to tell you how well these works is to show you. Since I didn't have anything that needed restringing at the time, I actually pulled the drawstring out of my favorite pair of pants to demonstrate how easy it is to put the string back. If you decide you want to get EZstringer to help you with your clothes, be warned that the three different sizes are for different size strings. So if you use one and keep pulling your string out of it while threading it through your clothes, you should probably try a different one. Here's my video demonstration:
