#ProductReview: Ziggy Baby Crib Sheets #ziggybaby

Ziggy Baby 1

As you can imagine, I do a lot of laundry in my household. Two adults and three kids that are five and under pretty much mean that I am doing major laundry every five days and there are normally other loads of bed sheets washed in between. My oldest is potty trained, but still has accidents occasionally. My two year old daughter is moving into overnight diapers because size five diapers just don't hold everything in when she sleeps. I know when my youngest needs to move up to a new sized diaper based on when the bed is wet. So...A lot of laundry. Up until a short time ago, I only had enough crib sheets for one crib, but now I have two cribs. I was using all of my old boy sheets with my daughter, but now I have another boy. I really wanted to get some girly sheets for her to replace the boy sheets I had previously been using. Ziggy Baby has provided me with a two pack of girl crib sheets for my honest opinion. I have received no other compensation for this review.

Ziggy Baby 2

These sheets came with pink polka dots on one and zigzags on the other. Both are made from 100% Cotton jersey. What I love about the material is that it is immediately soft to the touch and not at all scratchy like some cotton sheets. Because it is cotton jersey, it is a little stretchy as well. I know that I have a couple sets of sheets that are a struggle to get on the mattress because there's not give to them at all. These stretch just enough to make putting them on the bed easy and yet they fit without bumps and wrinkles that could cause a SIDS issues. They are machine washable and do not shrink. My daughter never had any issues with sleeping on them. They do not irritate her skin at all. They are designed to fit on all standard crib mattresses by having 9" corner pockets. You can see in the video how easy they are to put on my daughter's mattress and how smooth they are on it.

#ProductReview: Drop Stop as seen on Shark Tank

Drop Stop 1

I think everyone has had at least one instance where they have dropped something between the seats of a vehicle. The most memorable time for me was sitting at a stop light. I was behind a couple cars and I dropped my cell phone. It fell between the center console and the passenger seat. I bent over the console to reach under the seat to get my phone and my foot slipped off of the brake pedal. I rolled into the car in front of me. I was so terrified. I was very lucky though. The guy I hit didn't call the cops or even call his insurance company. The only damage done was the outline of my front license plate was on his back bumper.

Instances like this are why Drop Stop was invented. It's so easy to drop something between the seats and immediately try to grab it. It's a reflex. Unfortunately it is one that can get you into an accident and could even kill someone. Drop Stop is a unique invention that you put between your seat and the center console that will fill that troublesome gap. It is made from a high grade neoprene which will squeeze into any size gap and expand to fill it. It is covered in a black spandex-like material. Since the gap in your car is like a hole it is covered in a shadow, so the black color of Drop Stop really isn't that noticeable when you install it. Their is a hole in each one for you to put the seat belt catch through it. This way there are no gaps even where you buckle in the seat belt. Since the seat belt catch is attached to the seat, Drop Stop will move with the seat when you move it forward and back. Once installed, there's no need to remove it.

Drop Stop 2
Drop Stop 3

I have two vehicles that I had to choose between for my Drop Stop, my Dodge Ram 1500 and my husband's Pontiac Trans Am. The truck has a bench seat so the gap between the seats is almost non-existent. Not to say that I haven't dropped a credit card between them before. However, in my husband's car, the gap is quite noticeable. The first step installing Drop Stop is to lay back your seat. You'll notice in my video that I didn't do that. Honestly I forgot that step, but I wouldn't have been able to do it any way. I don't know if my husband's seats would have come back up. The second step is to install Drop Stop from the opposite seat. I also didn't do this because of how I had to hold the camera. Third, you push the seat belt catch through the hole in one Drop Stop. You need to make sure you push it all the way down so that it is snug between the seat and center console. Then pull on the ends of Drop Stop to help you push it down between the seat and console. If you lowered your seat, your final step is to bring it back to an upright position. The number one thing to remember is that you should install it while the vehicle is parked. Installing while in motion is pretty much a promise to get in an accident. It should work with any vehicle since it is so stretchy.

So I installed them and then checked to see if my phone, keys, or license would fall down through the gap. Each one slid down the console and held in place or slid into the seat where I was sitting. Either situation is preferable to having things fall under the seat. They were easy to reach and if I had been driving, I would not have caused an accident. You can see how well it worked in the video. Drop Stop is definitely something well worth investing in.

I was given a two pack of Drop Stops to try out in exchange for my honest opinion. I have received no other compensation for this review.

About Drop Stop
Howdy. My name is Marc Newburger. I along with Jeffrey Simon, my fellow inventor, and a team of amazing individuals are proud to present the first product ever of its kind. Since the era of the modern automobile, we as drivers have put up with the unbelievable hassle of dropping items down the crack of the car seat. I personally can count hundreds of times and many near accidents. But in the waning months of 2006, I almost met my maker. While driving along the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, CA, I was awaiting a very important phone call. I had placed my phone on the center console to easily reach the call when it came. It rang. The phone vibrated...and fell right down the gap.

While frantically trying in vain to jam my hand down and reach for the phone, I took my eyes off the road, pulled the wheel to the right as I leaned to retrieve the phone, jumped the curb, slammed the brakes, nearly struck a pedestrian, and came within 2 inches of smashing into a metal pole. I screamed at the top of my lungs, "Why doesn't someone come up with a way to block that stupid crack??!!" After collecting myself and being thankful no one was hurt, I paused and thought, 'Yes, why doesn't someone make something? I don't think I've ever seen anything to block that problem in my entire life.'

Still very shaken up, I couldn't stop thinking about what had happened, how amazingly blessed I was, and the possibility of a way to block this dangerous problem once and for all. I called my friend and business partner Jeffrey Simon to let him know what had transpired. While dialing, I dropped the phone down the crack again. Jokingly I thought, 'maybe that was a sign.' Little did we both know, what a sign it truly was. The entire experience has been a journey of faith and miracles, of which we wish to share some special moments with all of you.

#ProductReview: Eunectes Paint Brush Set #eunectes

Eunectes Paint Brush Set 1

I really love to paint. I especially enjoy painting murals on walls. I am what I like to call a "Copycat Cartoonist" which means I can't draw things straight out of my head, but if I have a cartoon in front of me, I can duplicate it. I am especially good at making something small and enlarging it. I have done three wall murals in my life. The first one is at my parent's house, but two are in my current home. I did a mural covering an entire wall in my son's room and I painted the entire kid's bathroom. I a very proud of these.

Bathroom 1
Bathroom 2
Bathroom 3
Bathroom 4
Bathroom 5
Bathroom 6
Bathroom 7
Bedroom

Just from looking at my work, you can probably imagine that I need decent paint brushes. I don't do multiple coats of paint and you can see my brush strokes in these pictures, but my brushes still have to be able to hold up pretty well. I can't have bristles falling out all the time and I really can't have flimsy brushes because I would get paint all over the floor. My next project is going to be working on a mural in my daughter's room. I intend to do a forest scene with fairies and butterflies. I pretty much killed my brushes when I painted the bathroom. I decided I would do a paint brush review as part my next project. Eunectes has provided me with a paint brush set that includes six nylon bristle brushes, a sketch pencil, and sponge for my honest opinion. I have received no other compensation for this review.

Eunectes paint brush set 2

Each brush is made with nylon bristles. They are double crimped to help keep the bristles from coming out. The handles are a little shorter then some paint brushes in order to give you better control over your painting and technique. They are considered ideal for oil, acrylic, watercolor, and face paints. My project uses acrylic paints.

Eunectes 3

I used almost every paintbrush on my butterfly painting in order to test them out. They all worked wonderfully! No bristles came out or bent. Some paintbrushes end up with bristles sticking out in different directions over time. These soft bristles appear to not have that issue. They were extremely easy to clean. I was painting with acrylic paints which I was able to get off the brush by simply swishing the brush around in a cup of water and then drying on a paper towel. They are fantastic brushes.

#ProductReview: Magiküchen's Mango Cutter #magikuchenmangocutter

Magikuchen 1

We eat a lot of fruit in our house. It's our thing that we eat in order to fill up through out the day and avoid eating junk food. We have been on Weight Watchers for almost three years now. Most fresh fruit and vegetables are zero points. They help satisfy the missing sugar that we constantly crave, but when certain fruits are out of season, we get tired on not having variety. During the summer we eat a ton of grapes. In winter it's all about the cuties or halos. We always have apples and bananas on hand year round. However, we need to be able to branch out from time to time. I also am getting ready to start making pureed baby foods again and need to be able to minimize how long it takes me to prepare it. One fruit that I don't have in the house a lot, but very soon will are mangos. Mangos are great to pair up with nearly everything for baby food. For some reason babies just love the taste and texture of them. I have decided that we need to try to have them on hand for ourselves as well. For this reason, I decided to try out Magiküchen's Stainless Steel Mango Cutter. They provided me with one to try out in exchange for my honest opinion. I have received no other compensation for this review.

Magikuchen 2

This mango cutter has been approved by the FDA. The blades are made from stainless steel. They are encased a solid piece of plastic to form the handles which also have a rubber grip. This keeps them from breaking because it is one solid piece. There are no seams in the plastic that could break from extensive use or putting too much pressure on them. I feel like it would take an unreasonable amount of pressure to break it, so it will be the only mango cutter you'll ever need. The stainless steel blades are dishwasher safe and resistant to rusting. Another bonus is that you could actually use it to cut other types of foods as well. I want to try it out on a pineapple when they are in season. The almost oval shape for the mango core could cause you to leave some of the mango (or other item) behind. Nothing grows in a perfectly straight line so that is just a natural result. I suggest that you look over the "core" after you cut it to see if there's any edible portion that you could slice off to keep. I know that happened with the mango I cut with it.

Here's a video demonstration of using the mango cutter. It worked perfectly. It looks like it is a little difficult to cut the mango at first, but I have a glass cutting board under it. I was being a little cautious when I was using it. It is a great addition to my kitchen, and I plan to put it to extensive use while making all the baby food I am going to need over the next few months.

#ProductReview: Baby Boo Soft Silicone Bib #babyboobibs

Baby Boo 1

We are just starting to try out some solids with my youngest. He will be four months old on the 19th. I realize that many will think that I am starting him a little too early, but I have very good reasons. He has acid reflux. He has medication for it, but all tht does it make it so when he spits up all over the place, it burns his throat less. My other two kids both had acid reflux as well and I noticed that when I started them on pureed foods, their reflux greatly improved. It really doesn't matter what kind of food I feed him, having something more solid will help him to not spit up as much and hopefully sleep for longer periods. Right now he naps ok, but he is still up every 3-4 hours every night. At almost four months old, I am still only getting 6 hours of broken up sleep. Caffeine is my best friend. So I'm getting kind of desperate to get him to feel better and sleep better. Baby Boo has supplied me with one of their soft silicone bibs to aid in this process. I received this bib for my honest opinion and received no other compensation for this review.

Baby Boo 2

Isn't the bib super cute? This little monster bib is made of food grade silicone. It is Latex Free, Phthalate Free, BPA Free, and Lead Free. It has a latch-type system for keeping it on your child. No annoying velcro that eventually stops working after it has been used and washed a few times. With this one, you pull the hooked end through the loop on the other side and then lock it into place. I have two pictures of this, but I'll also show you in the video how to lock it. This design will prevent your child from pulling it off and, since there's no velcro, keep from scratching the back of your child's neck.

Baby Boo 3
Baby Boo 4

The one thing you will have to watch for is hair getting twisted or tangled in it. My daughter wanted to wear it and some how she got her hair stuck in the strap. It was easy to fix, but your child could get uncomfortable or agitated from something like that.

Baby Boo 5
Baby Boo 4

This bib did really well on my infant. The clasp part didn't bother him at all which was my only real concern. He seemed to like having it on and it caught the food well. It was also super easy to clean. I didn't even have to scrub it after letting the applesauce dry on it overnight. If washed immediately, food would just rinse off. I am very happy with it.

The pouch on the bottom catches food so your child isn't sitting in it. Hopefully it will help you keep them a little cleaner. The best part about it though it how easy it is to clean. You can wash it in the kitchen sink. Everything wipews off easily. If you want to though, you can wash it on the top rack of the dishwasher. I really love that I can wash it in the sink because then I don't have to have a ton of bibs. I can roll it up or fold it to put in the diaper bag. I don't need to worry about having extra bibs in the diaper bag or having dirty ones in there. I can wash it right after using it and use it again. I don't know about you, but when I go out with the kids and get back home, I tend to plop the diaper bag down somewhere and forget about it until I need to leave the house again. I actually destroyed one diaper bag because I forgot to remove a dirty diaper from it for a few days. This will make life a little easier and cleaner.

#ProductReview: Bintiva's 2 lbs Neoprene Dumbbells #bintiva

Bintiva 1

Nearly every exercise regiment requires the use of some kind of weight or at least a way to increase the intensity of the workout after you have been doing it for a while. The exercise program that I keep trying to do and then have to stop because I miss days in the sequence uses small dumbbells. The program, which I reviewed, is called Fé Fit. I have done the first DVD multiple times now and when I first started doing it, I used drills in place of the weights that the program called for. We happened to have two drills that weighed approximately the same. I will say that they were a bit too heavy for just starting out. They weigh around 5 lbs each, but when you haven't exercised a lot recently, you should use a light weight. For this reason I went looking for 2 lbs weights. I need enough to feel like I actually have something in my hands, but not so heavy that I will be sore afterwards since I have two kids that I have to carry around all the time. Bintiva has provided me with two 2 lbs Neoprene Dumbbells in exchange for my honest opinion. I have received no other compensation for this review.

Bintiva 2
Bintiva 3

These dumbbells are professional grade and coated with neoprene to give it a no-slip covering. They have weights weighing 1 lbs, 2 lbs, 3 lbs, 5 lbs, 7 lbs, 8 lbs, and 10 lbs. Each is color coated so if you get more than one pair, you will easily be able to identify which weights you are picking up. The ends are hexagonal in shape to help keep them from rolling around on you, and they come with a 100% manufacturer's warranty. While using them in my Fé Fit workout, the no-slip was definitely tested. One of the workouts is to place the weight in the crook behind the knee and hold it there while doing leg lifts. For me, my knees sweat a ton. Holding something behind them can be quite difficult. When I used the drills, they fell out. Granted the center of mass on the drill is not optimal for this exercise. The dumbbells were definitely better suited and held firmly. No slipping here! They are comfortable to hold. They are easy to tell that they are 2 lbs.

They are excellent weights. I'm wishing I had a full set so that when I do other exercises that I am capable of using more weight, I could actually have them on hand. They will probably be an addition to my workouts in the future though. Please don't judge me too harshly in the video when I am using the weight.

#ProductReview: Happy Kid Essentials Child Safety Locks

Happy Kid Essentials 1

I have been slowly adding more and more safety locks round my house. My two year old has decided that it is fun to empty everything. She gets into the bathroom cabinets to pull out the toilet paper. She gets into my dresser and pulls out my socks and underwear. That one is rather embarrassing when other people are around. If you have tried installing baby locks, you know some types are more appropriate for certain doors and drawers than others. You also don't always want to drill screws into your furniture, so the ones that have 3M tape are better for those situations. My latest lock is made by Happy Kid Essentials. They have provided me with a six pack of the adhesive cabinet locks in exchange for my honest opinion. I have received no other compensation for this review.

Happy Kid Essentials 2

Each end of the lock has a small piece of 3M tape. You simply clean the surface that you want to attach the lock to, pull off the paper protecting the tape, and stick it to the surface. You should make sure the lock is set at a length that will actually allow you to place the lock as well as keep the door/drawer closed. You do this by removing the plastic slide cover from the end, aligned the plastic strip so that the ridges on the end are in the slots on the plastic strip, and then replace the slide cover. You can make the cover completely lock in place or push it almost all the way closed so you can remove the plastic strip later on. It is possible to place the lock and remove the plastic strip but leave the ends taped onto the surface. This way you can use the lock only when you need to.

Happy Kid Essentials 3
Happy Kid Essentials 4

I have placed these locks in three different locations. One is on the double doors of my pantry. Three are on cabinets in my bathroom. Finally, two are on drawers on my dresser. The baby lock on my pantry is only there to keep my daughter out when she is refusing to eat the food I give her, but otherwise it is left off. For this reason, I put one lock connecting two doors on the cabinets in my bathroom. This allows me to test to see if she will actually pull the lock completely free by pulling on both doors. When she discovered the locks, this was the first thing she tried to do. I was happy to see that she could not get them open. They open every so slightly though which did allow her to slide some fingers between the door and the frame, but she didn't pull them open far enough to actually hurt her. I put a lock on each of the other two cabinet doors in the bathroom so that the locks wouldn't be as likely to be pulled off. She went from the first set of doors straight to these ones. I noticed that these two locks held the door tighter to the frame. The final two locks on my dresser drawers have dissuaded her from even trying. When she saw them there, she walked away. They have been a little annoying for me just because I am not used to having them on there, but it is well worth not having my underwear all over the house. These locks make me very happy.

#ProductRreview: OxyLED Aroma Diffuser 500mL

OxyLED 1

This is my second aroma diffuser review. I am still very happy with the first one, but I really wanted to have another one specifically for my oldest son's room. This one was provided to me for my honest opinion. I received no other compensation for this review. The OxyLED Diffuser holds 500mL of water. It has seven different colors which can be set to a specific color or set to alternate between all of them. There are three different buttons on it to help you control it. The mist button turns it on and off. The light button controls what setting the lights are set to. Finally the third button controls if you are using a high flow or low flow for the mist. There are four time settings, 60 minutes, 120 minutes, 180 minutes, and on.

OxyLED 2
OxyLED 3

The on setting runs until the the diffuser runs out of water. I can honestly say that I don't know exactly how long the diffuser runs. I left it on in my living room running on high for six hours. There was still a lot of water in it when I moved it to my son's room. I refilled it and let it run all night in my son's room. It ran for 11 hours and still had water the next morning. I would guess that you could fill it every twelve hours and leave it running constantly. I put my sleep oil (2-3 drops) in it for my son and I really think it helped him to sleep better. I have to get more essential oil to use in it all the time, but I am really hoping that my son starts sleeping through the night more often with this in his room. I have been running it periodically without any oil in it so that it is only a humidifier to help him with his cough. He's been sick pretty much for two months straight, so we are trying to get him to sleep better in order to help him feel better. I think it's going to take a little while to see a difference with him, but I love that he is no longer congested after using it and the essential oil seems to help him sleep a little better.

My son loves the different colors. He uses them as a nightlight. The first night we had it in his room, we had to cycle through all of the colors to try to pick the one that would be bright enough as a light and yet dark enough to let him sleep. We settled on the red. His room is painted orange, so the red was actually pretty dark in the room.

I love the automatic shut ff when it runs out of water. It's one less thing to try to remember everyday. At night when I go in his room to put him to bed, if it isn't running, I add water and occasionally the essential oil. It is extremely easy to use. The cover on it is plastic, so I don't worry about my kids getting hurt if they get the cover off of it. The plastic is a really thick, durable plastic, so I don't imagine that they could break it without a lot of effort. It's a really nice humidifier. It would make a great present for someone this Valentine's Day. Pair it with an essential oil sample pack to create a romantic, thoughtful, and practical gift.

#ProductReview: Premium 12 Cup Silicone Muffin & Cupcake Baking Pan #MuffinPan

BrilliantChef 1

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, it's the perfect time to think about making some muffins and cupcakes. Cupcakes are great because you can give them out to everyone, including sending them with your child to school (if their school allows you to do that). I have three metal pans that I have used in the past, but I'm not crazy about them. I have to use muffin/cupcake wrappers with them because I'm afraid of the coating coming off onto what I am cooking. I am slowly coming around to the idea of using only silicone baking pans simply by doing these product reviews. The newest silicone baking pan is going to replace those metal cupcake pans. I was given a Premium 12 Cup Silicone Muffin and Cupcake Baking Pan from BrilliantChef in exchange for my honest opinion. I have received no compensation for this review.

BrilliantChef 2

BrilliantChef has created this lovely boxed set that includes everything you need to make amazing cupcakes and muffins. The box set includes a spatula, basting brush, 12 muffin silicone pan, and 50 paper muffin cups. Everything is pink, just in time for Valentine's Day. The paper cups even have hearts on them. With a silicone baking pan, you do not have to use paper cups if you don't want to. If you intend to give cupcakes away, I suggest using the muffin cups. The silicone baking pan is 100% high quality non-stick food grade silicone. It's non-toxic, FDA approved, and BPA Free. It can be used in temperatures up to 450°F. It is microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe. To go along with everything that comes in the box, you get a lifetime warranty on the baking pan just by signing up for their newsletter. You get two free dessert cookbooks when you sign up as well. I will say though that there aren't many muffin recipes in the cookbook though.

I have used the pan twice now. I made muffins and cupcakes. The pan is made thicker than some of my other silicone baking pans. Most require you to have a cookie sheet underneath of it in order to keep you from dumping everything out of the pan. I was able to fill this one, carry it to my oven, and put it in the oven without spilling anything and without having it bend over the wire rack inside of the oven. The first thing i made were the muffins. I used the paper cups for 5 muffins and lightly greased the other half of the pan. You do not have to grease these pans, but I decided to this time. Many silicone pans say to grease them the first time you use them and never again. The trick is that if you do not grease it, you need to wait for the pan to cool completely before removing what you cooked in it. Silicone pans cool faster than metal ones, so it doesn't take long to be able to enjoy your cooking. We were able to eat the muffins while they were still very warm instead of eating them at room temperature. The spatula that you are provided in the box can be used not only to help put all the muffin mix into the pan, but also to get the muffins out of the pan if you are too anxious to wait for the pan to cool enough. I didn't do it with these muffins, but using the basting brush with some melted butter could make them taste even better. The basting brush provided would work perfectly for it. The muffins I made tasted great and didn't survive past 24 hours. They did not get dried out at all.

My second usage of the pan was to make white cake cupcakes. They cook for 18-22 minutes according to the box, but I was able to cook them for 20 minutes. So they don't take the maximum amount of time to cook in this pan. Each one came out perfectly golden. I let them cool completely before putting icing on them. They came out really pretty honestly and tasted great. My oldest son ate three of them before I even realized he was going back for a second one. This pan really works fantastic. Here's what my pretty cupcakes looked like and the video is of me making the muffins. The final thing for me to point out is that the pan is really easy to clean by hand, but also even easier in the dishwasher.
