#ProductReview: 4-Pack Toeless Yoga Socks, Pilates Socks #yogasocks

I am really new to the Yoga and Pilates scene, but the exercises that I have been doing to strengthen and tone my body lately have both mixed into them. The workouts I do are part of the Fè Fit series and they seem to be a well balanced mix of all kinds of workout programs. I am really loving the series and seeing results, but over time I have discovered that I need to get the appropriate equipment to do the workouts more effectively. One item that I didn't have was yoga socks. Yoga socks are designed to keep your feet from slipping on the ground. Uniqee has provided me with a four pack of their toeless yoga socks in exchange for my honest opinion. I have received no other compensation for this review.

Toeless Yoga Socks 1
Toeless Yoga Socks 2

These socks are made out of 82% combed cotton and 18% spandex. They have little silicone dots on the bottom of them to keep your feet from slipping. The dots are not too big so they don't hurt your feet to walk around on them. Actually, I think the little dots feel like they are massaging the bottom of my feet when I m walking around. I really enjoy the feel of them.

Toeless Yoga Socks 3

They are an open toed design. This is to help you have more control over your feet and the poses you hold while wearing them. You can grip with your toes, as well as spread them and stretch them. I know I use my toes to keep my balance for nearly everything. I actually like working out in my bare feet instead of wearing shoes because I can control my balance better that way. These socks let me workout with minimal covering on my feet and still try to maintain my balance. While using them, I can do aerobics, pilates, yoga, straight cardio, and squats. I used them on my carpet which does still work. You don't slide around on carpet as much as you do in shoes or bare feet when you wear them, but they are more meant for a more solid floor. They work great on my kitchen floor and will work on tile and hardwood. You can wear them to do pretty much anything. I can see them being great for dancing.

Toeless Yoga Socks 4
Toeless Yoga Socks 5

They are open on the top which I assume is to help keep your feet from getting too hot. It helps make them a more universal size meaning that they are supposed to fit women's sizes 5-10. My feet are somewhere between 8.5 and 9 so they are a little stretched over my feet, but there is a little room to stretch to the next size. The only issue I have had with the socks is that after exercising for a while, they creep up between my toes giving my toes "wedgies". All you have to do it pull them down a little, but it can be a little uncomfortable. Otherwise, I love the mobility and the control I have over my feet while exercising in them.

#ProductReview: Microwave Popcorn Popper Maker - No Oil Needed #FatherDayGifts

I love popcorn. I like it plain, with butter, with cinnamon and sugar, mixed with chocolate...I love popcorn. Anything that can make it easier to make popcorn and easier to clean up, I'm all for. Never before had I seen a silicone popcorn maker, and it was supposed to be extremely easy to use. I decided it was a must try item. I have been provided with one silicone microwave popcorn maker in exchange for my honest opinion. I have received no other compensation for this review.

This device is quite simple. It is shaped like those cardboard boxes that you buy popcorn from at places like baseball games. It is made completely of silicone. You put 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels in the bucket and then put the silicone lid snugly on top of it. Place the entire thing in the microwave and cook on high for 2 to 2.5 minutes or until the popcorn slows down popping. That is all you HAVE to do. There are things you can do extra though. If you like air popped popcorn, you are finished here. Otherwise, you can add one teaspoon of oil (vegetable, popcorn, butter oil) with the unpopped popcorn kernels. Put the lid on the container and shape it up in order to coat the kernels in the oil. You can also add a little salt to the kernels before popping as well.

Microwave Popcorn Popper Maker 3
Microwave Popcorn Popper Maker 4

The first time I used it, I wanted to see what would happen when I cooked the kernels without any oil for the minimum two minutes. When the popcorn burns, it burns in the center of the container. The kernels popped consistently until the last twenty seconds or so. When it slowed, I thought about stopping the microwave, but I let it run just to see how it would turn out. The popcorn didn't burn horribly. I could have ate it still. I took a picture of the popcorn just to show you how overcooking turns out.

Microwave Popcorn Popper Maker 5

This is a lesson that you do need to pay attention to your microwave. When the popping slows, take out the container. Now, it is silicone so it does get quite hot. I used pot holders to remove it from the microwave and to take the lid off. Steam does build up inside of it, so be very careful when removing the lid so you don't scald yourself. The container does cool off pretty quickly after you remove it from the microwave and the popcorn will stay hot. The second time I made some, I used vegetable oil. I do like the taste of the oil and I wanted to see how quickly the popcorn pooped when using it. I put it in the microwave for two minutes again and when the popping slowed, I took it out. About one tablespoon of the kernels did not pop. You get enough popcorn for one person and will need to make multiple batches for more than one person.

Microwave Popcorn Popper Maker 6

The next best part other than getting perfectly popped popcorn is that it is dishwasher safe. The entire container can put placed in the dishwasher and comes out completely clean. It can be folded to be put back in the box that it comes in for easy storage. This is one really awesome kitchen accessory. The only issue that I foresee is wanting large batches of popcorn and how long it may take to make that.

#ProductReview: Neat-Oh! Hot Wheels on The Go Storage Organizer #hotwheels

Boys always end up with a billion toy cars. It is just too easy to grab a little hot wheel next to the cash register of a store for less than a buck and make your child super happy. I have done it multiple times in order to keep from buying my son candy that I didn't want him to eat or other larger toys that I knew he'd play with once and be done. The ease of purchase makes it so you have a ton of these little cars floating around your house. They fit underneath the furniture and appliances. In some case they fit under doors and get stuck in closets. They also get left all over the living room floor for you to step on much like Legos. Finding a good place to store them can sometimes be difficult though. You want something that can hold as many cars as possible, but still be able to be moved around so your child can play with them anywhere and get them out of your way. Up to this point, we had most of my son's Hot Wheels in a large plastic Semi Truck that has these little compartments for each car. However it can only hold about 48 cars and it is so old that the sides come open dumping the cars all over the place. Introducing Neat-Oh! Hot Wheels on the Go Storage Organizer. I have been given one in exchange for my honest opinion and have received no other compensation.

The Neat-Oh! Hot Wheels on the Go Storage Organizer is very much like those cloth bins that are so popular nowadays. It is approximately one foot by nine inches and about six and half inches deep. It folds up when it isn't in use so you can store it some place easily. While in use, there is a folded piece of cardboard covered in material that you put in the bottom of it to give the bottom more stability and structure. There are two "sections" inside of it to help divide up the stuff you put in it. While it is designed to hold 150 Hot Wheel cars, you can really use it for just about anything. There's no special places to put the cars or to actually organize the cars, so anything fits in it. I put "sections" in quotes because the divider is not connected to the bottom of the bin so anything small that you put in one side can slide under that divider and into the other side. The bottom piece of cardboard that you put in help to keep things from slide from one side to the other, but it does not prevent it.

The outside of the organizer has several pockets to carry stuff. You can put more cars in it or use the mesh pockets to hold food and drinks. They say on the packaging that they are perfect for holding water bottles. On two of the sides above the mesh pockets are handles. They are very sturdy handles that allow your child to carry the container with one hand. I believe that are made out of some kind of nylon.

There is a lid to help try to minimize dumping, but the lid is no attached to the container at all. The lid doubles as a small lap desk because it has a padded section under it to make it more comfortable when placed in your lap. That is why it isn't attached to the container. The padding is what helps hold it in place when it is on the container, but it does pop off fairly easily in my opinion. To put the lid on, your simply push it into place until the padding under the lid fits securely inside of the box, which will also give it a little stability when moving the container around. The top of the lid also has two elastic bands which are to help hold things in place when being used as a lap desk. You can use them to hold down papers or the sides of a book.

Overall, it has a really neat printed design which makes it very clear what it is for. You child will know which bin is the car bin. It is lightweight and easy for a child to carry. My son ran off with it immediately and began putting toys in it. I ended up filling it with the rest of his cars, but he was very happy using it. It will hold a lot of stuff even though it isn't very big. I wish the lid had a way to make it stay on. It could have snap buttons or some kind of clip just to make it stay in place. I don't know that the top will ever be used as a lap desk for us because it isn't super hard and it is small. It's a neat idea, but would be better if it were a hard top.

#ProductReview: No Tie Shoelaces #NTiShoelacefoKidanAdults

If you have kids, you understand the frustration of kids shoes. In the beginning the easy ones just slip on because your kid isn't walking so it doesn't really matter how secure they are. Putting on a tie shoe on an infant is not only difficult, but it can be painful for your child. As they get bigger you get to use Velcro as well as ties, but eventually the Velcro pulls apart or just falls apart. Ties come untied as you child learns to walk and run. They trip over them and scrape their knees. My oldest is five and I simply cannot keep his shoes tied. I have tied them in triple knots before he left for preschool and three hours later he would come home tripping over the laces. It has become evident that we need another solution until my son can tie his shoes. Uniqhia has supplied me with one package of their No Tie Shoelaces in exchange for my honest opinion. I have received no other compensation for this review.

The No Tie Shoelaces are made out of silicone. They have a little stretch to them, but not as much as rubber so they are not going to get stretched to the breaking point. You get 16 pieces in the package which gives you pairs of eight different lengths. They are very close in length, but gradually increase in size just as your shoe slightly increases in the distance between the eyelets when you are wearing them. You obviously do not need to use all of them and can start with whatever size is appropriate for your shoes. They are extremely easy to install though a little difficult to grip. All you do is remove your actual shoelace, slip one end into the eyelet and pull it through. Then pull the other end through the opposite eyelet. You should insert the end through the top of the eyelet and not from underneath. The will keep your shoes from popping off your feet. Put in as many as you need to keep your shoes on your feet. The stretch in the No Tie Shoelaces makes it so you shoes are not hard to pull on or too confining on your feet.

I have put them on my son's shoes. These shoes do not have that little loop on the heel to help pull them on your feet. Shoelaces get pulled too tight towards the toes and make these shoes even harder to pull on my son's feet. After putting in the No Tie Shoelaces, I had him try to put on his shoes without my help. He was pretty much able to pull them on. The heel collapsed on him and I had to help pull them out before he could walk. He wore the shoes all day long and even ran across my parent's front yard in them. The No Tie Shoelaces held in the shoes and his shoes did not come off his feet! No laces to trip over! No more tying or worrying about him falling. I am in love with these laces. I have to find a place to keep the extra sets so I can use them in future shoes as his feet get bigger and need even more laces. I will probably get them for my daughter very soon too. You can get them in black, white, blue, red, and multicolor. You can put them in like standard laces, but you can even create neat crisscross patterns. You and your kids can show off you personality and individuality. Protect your kids knees and stop worrying about shoes coming untied!

#ProductReview: Protective Carrying Case for Nintendo 3DS XL #3DSCASE

Nintendo 3DS XL Case 1

We love to play games in our house. My husband used to be a co-owner of a game store, so we have them everywhere and all kinds. We have electronics, board games, card games, miniature games, and dice games. Our kids are inundated with them. It should be no surprise that as our kids have gotten older, we have acquired more than one Nintendo 3DS XL. I had a regular 3DS that was meant to go to our oldest son when I got the 3DS XL. Instead, my son ended up claiming my limited edition Super Mario 3DS XL for himself and we have had to increase our gadgets in order for my husband and I to get a chance to play our games. We had two carrying cases, but when we acquired our third gameboy, we no longer had enough cases. CTA has provided me with their Protective Carrying Case for Nintendo 3DS XL in exchange for my honest opinion. I have received no other compensation for this review.

Nintendo 3DS XL Case 2

This case has a semi hard shell to it. It is covered in what is called EVA Material which is black and has some texture to it. I like the texturing because it makes it a little easier to hold on to. It comes with a carabiner clip which fits through a little loop of material on the outside of the case. This will allow you to slip your case onto something like a backpack or messenger bag, but that is the only method of carrying it other than your hands. The texturing makes that a little easier.

Nintendo 3DS XL Case 3

Inside of it is a soft material that will not scratch or damage your Nintendo 3DS or the game cartridges. There is a section where your Nintendo 3DS XL goes that is held in place by a piece of elastic. It is something like a pocket, so the gameboy slides under the elastic into this little cavity where it fits snugly and is held in with the elastic. Now, there are different sizes of Nintendo 3DS and in my video I actually show you the limited edition Pokemon version which is much smaller than the original. It still fits in this section, but it does slide around a little bit. So if yours is a smaller version, you may want to exercise caution when opening the case.

Nintendo 3DS XL Case 4

There is a flap in the center of the case that serves as more protection for the system as well as holds three game cartridges on the opposite side of the system. There are three little pockets that the cartridges fit in perfectly and do no slide around. They are on the outside of a little mesh pocket which pretty much can hold an extra game or two. There aren't a lot of accessories for the Nintendo 3DS XL that I know of, so I put more games in this section because I own more than three. They do not stay in place in this pocket, so if you want to store games there, be prepared for them to fall out because it really wasn't made to do that. You can put extra styluses there, but they will also slide around.

Nintendo 3DS XL Case 5

The last section is just the top of the case. The only item that I could think that could go there was the charger. It isn't really made for anything to go there, but it feels like wasted space to me so I put my charger there. I know that I hate when my system runs out of charge and I'm not home to get to the plug. If I'm on the go, this is the one accessory that I would definitely grab. If you want to fit the charge in the case, you will have to put the plug portion in and then put the cord in around it. I wouldn't try to bundle it up really because that will cause it to stick out more. It is possible to zip the case, but it is a VERY tight fit. If you can't get it to zip, try to position the charger a different way until you can. It is going to put a strain on the zipper and *might* decrease the lifespan on the case. I haven't had it longer enough to tell you if that is true or not. I don't really think it was designed with carrying the charger in mind.

Nintendo 3DS XL Case 6

Overall, it appears to be pretty durable. I feel like my gameboy is pretty safe in it and that even if I dropped it, it would not be damaged. I wish it held more games. I wish it was designed to hold the charger without me having to kind of force it closed. If you don't like to have all your games with you when you travel or you own four or less, then this would be a great fit for you.

#ProductReview: Bintiva Hippity Hop for Children ages 3-6 #hippityhop

Bintiva Hippity Hop 1

Bintiva is a brand that I have seen over the years when looking into ways to get fit. I used to have a workout program from them that I absolutely loved, but the dvd got damaged by my oldest and I never got around to replacing it. It's a brand though that I think many will recognize and may not know that they make toys for children that also serve to give them that much needed outlets for expending energy. I had no idea that they made exercise toys for children, so I was happily surprised to be supplied with their Hippity Hop in exchange for my honest opinion. I have received no other compensation for this review.

Bintiva Hippity Hop 2

The Hippity Hop is a rubber ball that has a handle on the top. I am sure you have seen this type of ball before, perhaps when you were a child. I remember using them in gym class. We would have races around the gym, but you had to remain seated on the ball and hop across the floor making sure that the ball left the ground with each hop. We were disqualified if our hop simply dragged the ball across the floor. It was quite the challenge when I was little. Those old balls are hard to find now, but Bintiva is bringing them back.

Bintiva Hippity Hop 3

The ball is designed for ages 3-6, but more importantly you will need to worry about the size of your child. Age will determine if they have the coordination to use the ball, but if their size will determine if they can actually sit on it and stay on it. They have proven that using the Hippity Hop though helps promote coordination, language development, and cognitive skills as well as total body strength training. You have to use your whole body when bouncing on the ball in order to hold on, stay on, hop, and balance. The handle is textured to help keep your child's grip from slipping and big enough for them to hold on with two hands. It comes in purple, blue, and gray so you can get a gender specific color or a neutral one.

When I got this, I had it in my mind that it would be great for my daughter. She's only two and a half, but I thought I could start working with her with it now to help improve her balance. She is slightly pigeon toed and is the clumsiest kid I have ever seen because of it. She runs and falls down every time. She has a scar on the side of her nose from where she was walking, tripped on her own feet, and embedded the beak of a little toy bird into her nose. Her balance is in desperate need of help in my opinion even though doctors have told me that it isn't bad enough to worry about right now. However, when she had to get two stitches from that toy bird, I decided that she might need a little help. Unfortunately, this is where I said that the size of your kid is pretty important. She is just a tiny bit too short for it. I don't have it completely inflated because I was trying to see how much air I could have in it and still be able to get her to sit on it. You'll see her fall off of it in the video at the end of this post. We have tried a couple of times, but her legs just aren't long enough yet to sit on it. Her big brother though loves bouncing around the house on it. He's a little big for it in my opinion even though he's only five. He's very tall for a five year old. I need to pump it up completely for him because his height and weight make the ball sink low enough that he has trouble bouncing.

Bintiva Hippity Hop 4

Really I think it is a great addition to the house. These balls are made to be used indoors so you don't bounce on something sharp and pop them. You really need to have the area clean where your kids use it. I am encouraging my son to use it daily to try to give him a little more exercise. The more running around he does, the better he plays with his sister. Otherwise, he just does things to aggravate her. I am going to still try to work with her with the ball because eventually she will be able to sit on it. She's been growing a lot lately, so any day she will have longer legs for it. Then I will be working with her daily to help build her balance and correct her pigeon toed problem.

In case you are wondering, it does come with a pump. It is made from plastic and is very simple. I wouldn't let your kids run off with it because it isn't really very durable. I used it as a hand pump, but according to their website, it is really a foot pump. There are very basic inflating/deflating instructions on the bag that the pump comes in. It also comes with two plugs and a tool to help you pull the plug out of the ball.

#ProductReview: Afterglow Jewelry Part 3 #AGBlossom #AGHeartToHeart #AGPetals #AGRockingHorse #AGSeashell #AGAngelTear

Afterglow Jewelry has provided me with another selection of their gold filled pendants to review. I have received no other compensation for my honest opinion in these reviews. I am in no way affiliated with Afterglow Jewelry. Each one comes in their decorative gift boxes that makes each one a special looking gift. I have worn all of them and tested them out with my kids. I am very happy to tell you that with each one, the chains did not break, the pendants did not break, and they are sturdy enough to withstand an eight month old. They are very durable as well as elegant, beautiful, and feminine. There is a single video about each of these pieces at the end of this post.

Afterglow Blossom 18k Gold Filled Pendant Necklace
Afterglow Blossom 1

The Afterglow Blossom Pendant comes in three colors: Light Green, Lilac, and Sky Blue. I picked the light green for this review because I have not shown you a green stone from them as of yet. The stone is an Austrian Crystal. The leaf of the flower has clear crystals to give it a little more sparkle. The pendant itself is 18k white gold filled and the chain is a standard chain that is white gold plated. The chain is 16 inches long with the two inch extension. The clasp is a crab claw, which I love. I find it way easier to put a necklace on myself with the crab claw clasps than the tiny ones that come on most chains. If you do not like the chain, you will have to break it in order to replace it. It does not come out of the pendant. Overall, I think the design is simple and elegant, but I do worry about the green stone coming out. It hangs over the white gold a little and while you can see where there is gold or metal on the stone to try to help it stay molded to the white gold, I fear that this one might come lose. The green stone is a lovely color, though seems a little odd for the flower because it gives it a little more of a clover look. This would not be the case with the other two colors, but like I said, I wanted to see what their light green stone looked like.

Afterglow Heart to Heart 18k Gold filled Pendant Necklace
Afterglow Heart to Heart 1

The Afterglow Heart to Heart Pendant is perhaps my favorite in this set of pendants. It is 18k white gold filled with a Rose Austrian crystal, but it also comes in lilac and sky blue. I absolutely love the rose stones and couldn't help myself with picking it out for a heart shape. There are two hearts in the pendant. The top heart is white gold with clear crystals lining the top arches of the heart. They are completely embedded into the white gold so there is no chance of them coming out. The rose crystal is embedded into the second heart which is overlapped by the top heart. It is pretty well stuck inside of the pendant. There is a chance it could be pried out, but wit the heart over top of it, it is very unlikely. The chain is 16 inches with the two inch extension. It again has the crab claw clasp and is white gold plated. The chain is an unusual one though. It is like little rectangles with tiny circles on the ends that are linked to the circle of each consecutive piece. I said this last time I received a chain like this and I maintain my thought about it. I fear the chain might be fragile. If one of those little circles breaks, I do not see how it could be repaired. Thankfully, the pendant has an extra loop at the top of it that is wider than the chain. If the chain does break, it is easy to replace it.

Afterglow Petals 18k Gold Filled Pendant Necklace
Afterglow Petals 1

The Afterglow Petals pendant was my kids favorite one. They absolutely loved the multicolor stones in it. My five year old asked me to give it to him. It is an 18k white gold filled pendant with five different colored stones for the petals of a star shaped flower. There are no options for changing the color of the stones in this one. It comes with light green, crimson, lilac, rose, and sky blue Austrian crystals. There is one small clear crystal in the center of the flower to draw them all together. Each of the petal crystals is completely embedded into the pendant. There is no chance of those stone ever coming out of it. The clear stone does stick out a little bit and could eventually be knocked out, but it is so small that I think it would have to be on purpose for the stone to come out. The chain is a white gold plated standard 16 inch chain with the two inch extension and crab claw clasp. It you do not like the chain, it is easily replaced. The place where the chain goes into the pendant is a loop on the back of the pendant that is big enough to change the chain. It has a very nice weight to it and will match a variety of clothing options since it has different colored stones. Each stone is gorgeous and has great clarity. I will say that in my video I called the crimson stone orange because it has more of an orange tone to it than red.

The Afterglow Rocking Horse Pendant is a fun one. It is a very different design from all the other pendants. It is a 18k white gold filled pendant with a lilac stone. It comes with the rose stone option as well, but since I got the Heart to Heart with a rose stone, I decided to get the lilac stone for this one. Plus, for some reason this pendant makes me think of my daughter whose favorite color is purple. What makes this one so different are all the various shapes of the other stones that accompany the rectangular lilac stone. There are two clear rectangle stones, six various sized circle clear stones and three small lilac circle stones around the neck of the horse. Finally, the rocker portion of the horse is completely embedded with clear stones as well. All of the stones that are not lilac appear to take on different colors in the light instead of just sparkling like the clear stones of other pendants. I believe that this is because they have solid white gold behind them where other pendants that had larger clear stones did not. That allowed the light to go through the other stones, but light cannot go through these ones. Instead we are seeing something like a reflection of the white gold through the clear stones. It gives is a very different appearance. Not an unpleasing one, just different. It does have an extra piece on it for the chain to go through, so you can replace the chain if desired. It comes with a white gold plated 16 inch box chain with a two inch extension and crab claw clasp. Box chains are one of the sturdiest chains out there, so I know I won't be replacing it.Probably one day this necklace will become my daughter's because it reminds me of her so much.

Afterglow Seashell 18k Gold Filled Pendant Necklace
Afterglow Seashell 1

The Afterglow Seashell pendant is an 18k white gold filled pendant that comes with either a royal blue, sky blue, or clear Austrian crystal. I chose the royal blue because this was the first time I had seen that option. The shell is supposed to be like a cowry shell. The inside of the shell is a large royal blue crystal that is completely embedded in the pendant. There is an overlap of the white gold over top of it that has clear crystals in it. The hook at the top of the pendant for the chain to go through also has clear crystals embedded into it. It is sparkly from the tip top to the bottom. The royal blue stone is quite impressive. It reminds me of cornflower blue with how bright and deeply rich in color it is. The chain is a white gold plated standard 16 inch chain with a two inch extension. It comes with the crab claw clasp as well. The chain can be changed out easily if you so desire. I love the richness of the color of the stone in this one. It is just gorgeous.

Afterglow Angel Tear 18k Gold Filled Pendant Necklace
Afterglow Angel Tear 1

The Afterglow Angel Tear necklace is a 18k yellow gold filled pendant. This one comes with two color options, but you get more than those colors in the pendant. You can choose from Clear & Blue or Magenta & Rose Austrian Crystals. I always choose shades of blue when talking about tears, so I picked the clear and blue option. What comes in the pendant with that option are small stones starting with turquoise, sapphire, and then azure blue. The center has a larger clear crystal. If you pick the magenta and rose option you will get the following colors: clear, rose, pink, and magenta. The entire pendant is covered with crystals. All of the smaller ones are completely embedded and will not come out. There's a chance the center piece could come out but it is inside the center of the pendant and completely surrounded by the yellow gold, so I doubt you will have any problems with it. It has a large hook at the top of the pendant so you can replace the chain easily. It comes with a standard yellow gold plated 16 inch chain with a two inch extension and crab claw clasp. It has a gorgeous tear drop shape and is super sparkly. It definitely draws attention when you are wearing it.
